The general public has been urged to disregard reports circulating on social media to the effect that the Chief Executive Officer of Menzgold Ghana Limited, Nana Appiah Mensah, has addressed customers on its recent tug-of-war with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
SEC ordered the company to suspend its gold vault marketing operations over certain regulatory infractions, a situation which the legal advisor to the gold-trading firm, Kwame Akuffo, said smacked of unfairness.

A statement released by George Quaye, Head of Communications, on Tuesday, 18 September 2018, said: “The attention of the management of Menzgold Ghana has been drawn to an audio clip circulating on social media purporting to be the CEO of the organisation addressing customers and partners on the current state of affairs and the future of the organisation.
“Menzgold Ghana would like to state emphatically that neither the CEO nor any member of the firm’s leadership has recorded and distributed such content or addressed any gathering, public or private on the subject matter.”
