Former Finance Minister, Dr. Kwabena Duffuor has called the public to disregard a fake letter circulating on social media, which he says is intended to distort the truth and mislead people.
In a statement posted on his Facebook page on Saturday, August 31, 2024, Dr. Duffuor clarified that the letter is part of a calculated disinformation campaign by certain opposition groups aiming to confuse the public.
“We are aware of a letter being circulated in public forums and on social media, falsely presented as official communication from Dr. Kwabena Duffuor. This fabricated document is a deliberate attempt by some opposition elements to mislead the public and sow discord. I strongly condemn these actions,” he stated.
Dr. Duffuor urged the media to be diligent in verifying the authenticity of any information before accepting it as fact.
“I encourage the media to exercise caution and verify the authenticity of any information before treating it as fact,” he added.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to transparency, integrity, and honest communication.
