If Mahama is terminator 1, then Akufo-Addo is… – Opare Addo [Listen]

-

The Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment, George Opare Addo, has dismissed claims that President John Mahama should be labeled as “Terminator 1,” arguing that former President Nana Akufo-Addo would then deserve the title of “chief executioner.”

“If Mahama is Terminator 1, then we have an executioner, Akufo-Addo. He came to kill us; he killed Ghanaians, businesses, and the youth with his bad policies. He is the chief executioner. The collapse of businesses was unprecedented,” Opare Addo stated.

His comments come in response to accusations from the Minority, who compared Mahama to a “Terminator” following mass dismissals of workers.

At a press conference on Monday, March 3, former Minister for Finance and Karaga MP, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, accused the Mahama administration of deliberately sacking employees to create vacancies for party loyalists.

He claimed that Mahama’s government was terminating the jobs of properly employed young Ghanaians under the guise of job creation.

However, Opare Addo, who also serves as the National Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), refuted the allegations in an interview on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem.

“I don’t subscribe to the Terminator 1 tag. What you do not have, you cannot give. Mahama has not terminated anybody’s appointment; it is only those who were illegally recruited,” he argued.

“We sounded caution against illegal and last-minute appointments during the transition period, but they told us they were yet to hand over power,” he added.
