Medeama SC Head Coach, Ibrahim Tanko, voiced his frustration despite his team’s 2-1 comeback win against Basake Holy Stars in an outstanding Matchday 21 fixture.
The Yellow and Mauves hosted the debutants at TNA Park on Tuesday afternoon, where they had to battle from behind to secure all three points. Basake Holy Stars took an early lead through Issah Yakubu, but Kamaradini Mamudu equalized before halftime.
With the game seemingly heading for a draw, Derrick Fordjour scored in the 89th minute to complete the turnaround for the home side.
Despite the win, Tanko expressed dissatisfaction, particularly with his team’s failure to keep a clean sheet.
“We had a lot of chances in the first half that, minimum, we had to score two or three goals,” Tanko said after the game.
“The only thing I’m not happy about is that we didn’t get a clean sheet, but I think in all we deserved to win the game. We created more chances than they did, and I think the performance was good,” he added.
With this victory, Medeama SC climbed to 4th place on the league table with 38 points. They will now turn their focus to a crucial away fixture against Hearts of Oak this weekend.
