Former Ghana international, Ibrahim Sunday, has called on government to help in the development of sports in the country.
His comment comes after Ghana missed the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
In an interview with Sports Nite on Asempa FM, Sunday explained that governments around the world play an important role in improving sports.
He encouraged Ghana to follow their example by providing better support for athletes and sports facilities.
“I think that the government needs to help with sports development in the country,” he said.
“We are in Ghana, but we know what other governments in other countries are doing to develop their sports,” he added.
Ghana for the first time in two decades will not participate in the AFCON tournament after finishing at the bottom of Group F with three points after recording three defeats and three draws.
