Following the recent scuffle between dancehall artistes Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale at the recently held 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), the latter has decided to disassociate himself from the awards scheme.
This isn’t the first time the dancehall act has made such a decision as he did same during the 14th edition of the VGMA.
He said:
“Upon sober reflections of events in recent times and having made broader consultations, I wish to announce that I will not be part of the Ghana Music Awards scheme going forward. God bless!”

Most of this fans reacted with delight to his announcement and wished him well in his music career.
Meanwhile, the Board of the VGMA told Ghanaians at a press conference on Thursday that it has banned Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale indefinitely from the Awards.
The rest of the Awards that were supposed to be presented were nullified per the brawl that happened in the auditorium, where Shatta Wale followed Stonebwoy on stage when he was announced ‘Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year,’ on Saturday.
