I will build Ghana’s first Sports Museum – Nana Yaw Amponsah

Ghana Football Association (GFA) presidential aspirant, Nana Yaw Amponsah, has disclosed that he will build a football museum to preserve Ghana’s rich history and also serve as a learning centre to generate revenue if he is given the mandate to lead the FA.

Mr Amponsah, who holds a Master’s Degree (LLM) in Sports Law and Practice from the Leicester De Montfort University in the U.K, was the first to openly declare his intention to contest in the FA’s presidential elections after the incumbent Kwesi Nyantakyi announced that he will be stepping down at the end of his tenure in 2019.

In an exclusive interview on Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show, the 35-year-old who doubles as the president of Phar Rangers FC assured Ghanaians.

“I will build a football museum in Ghana if I become the GFA president.”

“I understand football as a business and funding the projects won’t be an issue,” he added.

Mr Amponsah further stated his intention to improve the top-three tiers of Ghana football by empowering the clubs with infrastructure and securing sponsorships for the various stakeholders of the three top tiers of Ghana football including clubs, referees.

“I will create an effective sponsorship ambassadorial team, comprising of renowned former footballers and other celebrities to build awareness and attract the corporate world to support the GFA’s activities.”

Nana Yaw Amponsah goes down in history as the first aspirant of the GFA Presidency to produce a manifesto detailing his plans for Ghana football as leader of the organisation.
