Popular Kumawood actor Kwadwo Nkansah has shared how he was once mocked and discouraged when he began acting, particularly for not being a funny comedian.
In a motivational one-on-one interview on Cape Coast-based Property FM, the comic actor urged listeners not to let negative comments deter them from pursuing their dreams.
“When I started acting, people said I wasn’t good enough to be counted among funny comedians,” Nkansah recalled. “They mocked me, but by the time they realized it, God had lifted me to be recognized as one of the best in the industry, and it’s all by the grace of God.”
He also reflected on the early challenges he faced playing roles as an old man in movies.
“When I started acting as an old man, people ridiculed me, saying my efforts were senseless,” he said in an interview with Amansan Krakye. “But now, people love it when I play an elderly character, and the same happened when I introduced dancing in movies.”
Nkansah emphasized the importance of perseverance, stating, “So everything that people used to discourage me, God turned it into a blessing. Never let what others say make you lose hope.”
