Hiplife-musician-turned preacher, Yaw Siki says he couldn’t refrain from smoking marijuana and watching pornography when he was a secular artiste.
He made these revelations in an interview with Ohemaa Woyeje on Adom FM’s “Work and Happiness” show on Wednesday.
According to Yaw Siki, who had a near-death experience after his accident on the Tema Motorway, he couldn’t move away from certain “ungodly” acts when he was doing secular music.

“I used to smoke so much. I was addicted to marijuana, pornography, masturbation and others. I was living what I was preaching in my songs then…” he said.
Asked if he is not tempted to go back to that life, Yaw Siki replied, “the enemy wants me back as I am here. They have used situations and devices to bring me back but because I remain powerful, the Grace helps me sail through.”
After surviving a gory accident in 2013, the former hiplife artiste, known by his real name, Isaac Okai, now lives on preaching the gospel.

Yaw Siki, who had his debut hiplife song ‘Wope Dodo’ in 2011, switched from secular music to gospel in appreciation of God’s favour for him and the second chance offered him.
Since giving his life to Christ, he has released tracks like ‘Thank You’, ‘Ohene’ and ‘Medi Wekyi’.
Unfortunately, these songs were not given the same attention as the secular ones.
