Former Ghanaian international, Augustine Arhinful has revealed on the Ultimate Sports Show that he forewarned the embattled former Ghana Football Association President, Kwesi Nyantakyi of the dangers ahead of Aremeyaw Anas video expose`.
The former Dortmund striker says the current halt of Football in the country could have been prevented if the former Ghana football boss had heeded his advice and resigned honourably before the Anas Expose’ in June.
“I received an anonymous call days before the Anas expose’ in June and was asked to inform President Nyantakyi to resign before the airing of the video. I did even though I did not know the caller and told someone close to President Nyantakyi to inform him”, Arhinful said.
The Professional Football Association of Ghana (PFAG) member says he was positive Government would have been quite lenient if Mr Nyantakyi had resigned to save the Association.
“I know Government would not have opted for a total take over if Kwesi Nyantakyi resigned before the expose` in June. It is unfortunate football in the country has been reduced to this”, he added.
