I want to leave Hearts of Oak – Kofi Agbesimah

-

Accra Hearts of Oak captain and defender, Kofi Agbesimah, has confirmed his decision to leave the club just after a season.

The 27-year-old joined the Phobian Club before the start of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season from Bechem United on a two-year deal.

Despite the club’s porous performance last season, Agbesimah made a total appearance of 30 and scored just once.

However, the experienced defender said he is unhappy and wants to leave the club.

“I’m not happy at Hearts of Oak. I want to leave. When Hearts signed me, If you look at how they hyped me and all that, I wanted to do something that would have made them very happy,” Agbesimah told Kessben Sports.

“But in football, certain things can happen which is very common in football, so that’s why I want to leave,” he added.

Having lost to Asante Kotoko in the maiden Democracy Cup, Hearts of Oak will clash with Heart of Lions in the 2024 Homowo Cup later this month at the Accra Sports Stadium.
