Asante Kotoko coach, Charles Kwablan Akunnor has admitted that, pressure is part of coaching; so he is ready for all forms of criticism as he aspires to reach higher heights.
The former AshantiGold gaffer emphasized on Asempa FM’s SportsNite Show that, the constant criticisms from the fabulous family is not a worry to him at all because he has now developed a thick-skin to absorb all; being negative or positive.
“If I want to do this to the highest level, then I must expect all these things [pressure from supporters] which is part of the game. Sometimes some of the criticisms are positive and sometimes some are negative, the positive ones that I think can help me, I take.” He stressed.
A staunch Asante Kotoko fan by the name ‘Seidu’ is on record to have said that, in Kotoko, the supporters are those who sack coaches; but Akunnor in a reaction has condemned that statement stating that, such an act should not be tolerated.
”The notion that in Kotoko supporters are the ones who sack coaches is not a good thing and has to be stopped. I have had a chance to talk to seidu and so far so good. He is passionate just like any other supporter, just that he is so much in love with the team.” He added.
Kotoko will face Al Hilal, Nkana FC and ZESCO united in the group C of the 2018/19 CAF Confederations Cup.
