I used to admire Akufo-Addo’s mastery of English, but… – Beatrice Annan [Audio]

Beatrice Annan, the Deputy Spokesperson for the John Mahama campaign, has disclosed that she once admired President Akufo-Addo’s mastery of the English language during the early stages of her political career.

However, she expressed disappointment in his leadership, accusing him of mismanaging the economy and causing widespread hardship for ordinary Ghanaians.

In an interview on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, Beatrice Annan criticized the President for failing to deliver on his promises and for what she described as economic mismanagement.

“I started politics at a young age, and what I admired about Akufo-Addo was his mastery of the English language. He criticized the then government when kenkey was GH₵1 and the dollar was GH₵3, describing it as wickedness, and said he would have resigned if he were president.

“But now, we’re buying kenkey for GH₵5 and GH₵7, while the dollar is going for GH₵17. Even some NPP members can attest that things are bad,” she remarked.

On this basis, she called on Ghanaians to reject the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming 2024 elections.

“The NPP made a lot of juicy promises and gave Ghanaians hope, but look at where they’ve brought us. The situation is really bad,” she lamented.

The legal practitioner also cautioned against politicizing issues related to health, the economy, and education, emphasizing that the conditions of ordinary Ghanaians reveal the true state of affairs.
