Popular comedian, Derick Kobina Bonney (DKB) has opened up about his ongoing struggle to connect with his father, a man he has not seen or spoken to in over three decades.
At 38, the comedian revealed that he still does not know his father, except for his name, Michael.
DKB shared that, he last had contact with his father at the age of five, a time too early for him to remember his father’s face.
Despite his efforts to reconnect, his search has hit several dead ends. He recently reached out to his father via phone call, who was not in Accra at the time.
When DKB requested a picture or selfie, he said his father claimed that his camera was not functioning properly.
The comedian also learned that, his father might be working with the Registry of Catholic University in Sunyani.
However, further checks revealed that the main registrar is a Reverend Father, and the deputy is too young to be his father, leaving DKB with more questions than answers.
The experience has left him with a sense of loss and a powerful message for others.
He urged people to appreciate their fathers, regardless of their flaws or the difficulties in their relationships, as some, like him, may never have the chance to know or connect with theirs.
At 38 i still don't know my father. Appreciate yours no matter what.
finally called him, he wasn't in Accra, I begged him to send his pic or selfie, he said his cameras disposition isn't progressive 😂
