I never believed Mahama would be President again – Annoh-Dompreh

Nsawam-Adoagyiri Member of Parliament(MP) Frank Annoh-Dompreh has said President John Mahama’s victory in the 2024 election was a huge surprise as he never thought it would happen.
According to him, his perception was based on the commentaries he heard about Mr. Mahama ahead of the general election.
However, following his overwhelming victory, the Minority Chief Whip in an interview on Accra-based Starr FM said he is now convinced everything is possible.

“I never believed, I never thought President Mahama would be President again, and I have eaten my humble pie because of the margin by which he won. I realized that God can do anything. Because of what I was seeing in the country and the feedback I was getting.

“People said that, well, for what he did and for what we have known him for, it’s not a risk we would want to take. That is why I am saying you should never say never,” he stated.

The Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC) Jean Mensa on December 9 declared the former President as the winner of the 2024 presidential election.

Mr. Mahama who was the National Democratic Congress(NDC) flagbearer, obtained 6,328,397, constituting 56.55% while his close contender, the NPP’s Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia secured 4,657,304 votes, comprising 41.61%.
