I hid to do music because my dad was against it – Kojo Antwi

You have to think again if you think music maestro, Kojo Antwi has it all rosy in his quest to becoming a musical gem.

According to the “Medofo Pa” hitmaker, he realized music was his calling at a very young age but his parents, especially his dad, “looked down on doing music.”

In an interview on Adom FM’s Work and Happiness with host OPD, Kojo Antwi, explaining how he became a musician said: “my parents had a different thing for me. They didn’t think joining the music band was right.”

Asked how he got his way out to pursue his fashion, the “Mr Music Man” said he had to hide to do music with four of his friends.

Kojo, who was living in Darkuman then surrounded by top bands such as ‘Osofo Dadzie, the Skippers, Ogya Tano and Scorpion’, said all these bands weren’t enough to convince his dad that music was lucrative and was his talent.

“I tried convincing my dad to look at Nana Ampadu’s cars but he wasn’t so I was hiding and doing it. We were like four friends and we tried sneaking our ways into lot of live band shows,” he disclosed.
