I have no regret playing for Hearts of Oak – Kwadwo Obeng Jr

-

Footballer, Kwadwo Obeng Jr has said he holds no grudge against his former club, Accra Hearts of Oak.

The attacker has been unattached since leaving Hearts in January 2024 and missed the entire second round of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League.

However, speaking in an interview, the 25-year-old said he holds nothing against his former side.

“I have no regret playing for Hearts of Oak. The supporters saw what I could do as a player, and I was determined to continue, but the management felt I should go,” he told Asempa FM‘s Ultimate Sports Show.

“I was awarded a one-year contract extension, but I was told to leave after some months but I harbour nothing against Hearts of Oak. I have moved on, and I am hoping to succeed with my new team (Heart of Lions),” he added.

Kwadwo Obeng Jr has joined the Kpando-based side on a two-year deal ahead of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season and he is expected to boost the firepower of the side.

Obeng Jr featured in Heart of Lions’ Homowo Cup defeat against Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.

During his stint with Hearts of Oak, Obeng won the 2020/21 Premier League title and two FA Cups.
