The name Castro is a household name in Ghana. The late musician blessed with vocal prowess disappeared some years back without reason.
On July 6, 2014, Castro and Miss Janet Bandu were reported to have drowned following a jet ski accident in Ada Estuary while on holiday with footballer Asamoah Gyan.
The jet ski involved in the accident was recovered the same day after the incident, but their bodies have not been recovered, despite a thorough search by the Ghana Police Service.

Till date, no one has a word on his whereabouts.
One of his greatest selling songs was a song he had with rapper Sarkodie – the ‘Adonai’ song. The song transcended beyond borders and topped music charts for weeks, not only in Ghana but even in Europe and some parts of America; garnering over 64 million views on YouTube.

In an interview on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards ‘Artiste of the Decade’, Sarkodie, disclosed that he has several unreleased songs with Castro.
According to him, he was broken when he heard the news that he had died because he was the only industry player that he bonded well with.
Explaining why he added a song with late singer Ebony Reigns to his yet-to-be released ‘Alpha’ album, Sarkodie revealed he had many records with Castro but didn’t know how to release them.

“My team has been on my neck wanting me to release the record with Ebony. I have a lot of songs with Castro too. About seven of them. I feel weird releasing them. With the Ebony record, I was forced to bring it out. I wish she was here so we could take the video. But I think it doesn’t kill anything,” he noted.

Asked if copyright issues were hindering him from dropping the ones with Castro, Sarkodie said:
“We had agreement and it isn’t going to affect me. The same time we lost him he wanted to shoot a video with me. I have the rights but I don’t know why I’m not releasing it. It’s a mileage that can go to some extent but not forever,” he said.
