Nigerian dancehall act, Burna Boy says its rather unfortunate many African musicians are quick to go for international deals because of their lucrative nature.
According to him, most of the clauses they sign make the musicians victims to deals which tend to affect their brand and cheat them of their talents.

He expressed gratitude to his manager and mom for aiding him turn a blind eye to many juicy deals that were offered him.
Through a post on his Instagram, moments after Yemi Alade signed a deal with Maybach Music Group boss, Rick Ross, Burna Boy posted this, which some fans thought it was a reaction to the international collaboration.
Dancehall act, Shatta Wale has reacted to Burna Boys’ post and lauded him for “speaking the truth.”

Burna Boy said:
“I feel so sorry for all you Nigerian and artists jumping into these International deals. You guys don’t know what you are doing. I will forever be thankful and grateful to my manager/mother for making sure I will never be an international VICTIM. I feel very bad for every single 1 of you. I’m hearing some really crazy shit out here. I’m so sad for y’all.”
