I don’t fear for my life – Cynthia Morrison says after shooting incident [Audio]

Member of Parliament(MP) for Agona West in the Central region, Cynthia Morrison has said she has no reason to live in fear.

The former Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection said this on Adom FM Dwaso Nsem.

The comment of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) MP who is seeking to contest as an Independent Candidate in the 2024 election follows a shooting incident in her constituency.

Supporters of the NPP Parliamentary Candidate, Chris Arthur and Cynthia Morrison encountered each other while campaigning in the same area.

Tensions reportedly escalated when Mr Arthur’s convoy encountered a roadblock allegedly set up by Ms Morrison’s supporters.

As the convoy attempted to turn away, shots were fired and the NPP Nasara Coordinator, Haruna Rashid who was travelling with Mr Arthur sustained injuries in the ribs.

Reacting to the incident, the MP denied any involvement in the incident.

With Mr Arthur as her former aide, Madam Morrison stated he was capable of anything and won’t be surprised if he planned the shooting to dent her image.

“I don’t fear for my life; God is with me. As my son, I know the things he can do but he has failed. If he wants to kill someone and implicate me, that will not work. I didn’t see who fired the gun but he claims he saw the person so he should help identify the culprit,” she said.
