Barcelona defender, David Oduro has shared his excitement about joining the club and his dedication to making a significant impact.
The Ghanaian left-back has signed a three-year contract with Barcelona, transitioning from Accra Lions in the Ghana Premier League. Oduro expressed his enthusiasm in an interview with Sporty TV, stating, “Barcelona fans should be ready; I’m coming with fire and I promise not to disappoint them.”
This move to Barcelona is a dream come true for Oduro, marking a major advancement in his career.
He sees this as an opportunity to work hard and make a name for himself on the international stage.
“This is my chance to work diligently. It’s not the time to rest; I need to put in extra effort to earn a spot in the first team. My goals are to play in the first team, compete in the Champions League, and eventually return to play for Ghana,” he said.
Despite having trials with Chelsea and impressing their coaches, Oduro’s passion for Barcelona and their playing style led him to choose the Catalan club.
“I’m drawn to their style of play. I’ve seen it firsthand, and it’s an exciting project. I’m eager to get started,” he added.
Starting with Barcelona’s youth team, Oduro understands that earning a first-team spot may take time. Nevertheless, he remains patient and committed, reflecting on the perseverance he demonstrated during his time at Accra Lions.
“I’ll continue to be patient, as I have been throughout my journey from Accra Lions to now,” he concluded.
