Hundreds gather in Damongo to offer special prayers for Mahama’s victory

The Yagbonwura, Bii-Kunuto Soale Jewu Soale I, overlord of the Gonja Kingdom, has led an Islamic prayer session ahead of tomorrow’s general elections.

The prayer session, held at the Jakpa Palace in Damongo, drew over 100 Muslims who gathered to recite prayers for tranquility in Gonjaland and to thank John Mahama for his contribution to the development of the area.

The prayers were also centered on the victory of John Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), as residents sought divine favor for him in the upcoming polls.

The Yagbonwura highlighted the need for peace and unity, urging all citizens to conduct themselves responsibly during the elections.

During the event, gratitude was expressed for the construction of the new Jakpa Royal Palace in Damongo, a project commissioned by John Mahama.

The palace, a magnificent structure, has been described as a symbol of tradition and progress for the Gonja Kingdom.

Speaking after the commissioning, John Mahama emphasized the importance of maintaining peace throughout the electoral process.

He urged residents of the Savannah Region to lead by example in ensuring a smooth and non-violent election. Mahama highlighted that the new palace would not only serve as a significant cultural and administrative center for the Gonja Kingdom but would also attract tourists visiting the Mole National Park.

The event marks a symbolic moment of unity and faith within the Gonja Kingdom, as residents look forward to a peaceful election day.
