The police have given a vivid account of how they found the body of the 32-year-old medical doctor at the Ridge Hospital who was killed by floods on Monday night following torrential rains that hit some parts of the country.
The Teshie District Police Commander, Superintendent Peter Yembillah said they found the body of Dr Adjoa Eshun Hayfron under a heap of refuse in the Kpeshie Lagoon.

He indicated that fishermen in the area noticed something buried in the sand so they drew their attention.
Supt. Yembillah said the police, together with military personnel from the 48 Engineers Regiment, went to the area and removed the body.

Her vehicle which was submerged in the lagoon, the Teshie Police Commander noted, was also removed.
He said her husband, Bernard Kofi Agyei Oppong who was part of the rescue team, was very brave throughout the search until his wife was found.

Supt. Yembillah said the body has been deposited at the Police Hospital morgue for postmortem and will be given to the family for burial.
