Ghanaian musician and politician, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, has shared a surprising story about how Dancehall star Shatta Wale played a crucial role in his journey to becoming a Member of Parliament.
According to A Plus, before hitting the campaign trail, he reached out to Shatta Wale for advice.
He noted that Shatta, who is known for being seemingly unserious and controversial, offered him a piece of wisdom that changed his perspective.
“Shatta told me to follow the life of Jesus Christ. In simple terms, he meant I should focus on giving back and supporting the people. That’s how you gain their love and trust,” A Plus recounted.
The MP for Gomoa Central expressed his amazement at the depth of Shatta Wale’s advice, adding, “God doesn’t put wisdom just anywhere. Sometimes, it’s hidden in the places you least expect. Shatta Wale is a perfect example of that.”
A Plus credited this guidance as one of the reasons he connected so deeply with his constituents, eventually winning their hearts and securing his seat in Parliament.
He is hopeful of bringing much-needed change to the infrastructural framework of the constituency.
