Interior Minister-designate, Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak, received a gun salute from his security team following the announcement of his appointment.
A viral video captured a uniformed policeman firing his gun into the air to celebrate the Asawase Member of Parliament (MP).
The elated nominee, dressed in an all-white agbada, was seen coming out from a room into the compound, where he was met by the team who congratulated him.
Muntaka acknowledged the gesture with a wide grin as he shook hands with a second uniformed policeman and hugged another man in plain clothes.
