How Mahama likened Akufo-Addo’s gov’t to Jesus’ parable of the talents

-

Former President John Mahama has likened the incumbent Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration to the parable of the talents Jesus Christ told his disciples.

According to the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), his successor’s performance is worse than what the last amongst the servants did with his talent.

Throwing more light on the parable, Mr Mahama at the NDC manifesto launch quoted Matthew 25:14-30.

He said President Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia have gambled with the country’s resources and plunged the nation into debt.

Mr Mahama noted that, Ghana was supposed to be on a pedestal better than where it is today, considering the state of affairs he left behind.

“This parable teaches us to invest whatever is put in our care wisely for the benefit of our master. The master in this case is the people of Ghana. This administration is akin to the last servant, who buried the talent that was given to him and returned the same talent to his master upon his return.

“In the case of Akufo Addo/Bawumia and their cabal, they did not bury the talents given to them by the people of Ghana and return them to us. They gambled with the talents we gave them and landed the people of Ghana in a huge debt,” he stated.
