A 51-year-old woman, Ama Adobea has severely burnt the hand of her 10-year-old Grandson at Assin-Bisidruasi for stealing fish from a pot of soup.
The victim, in an interview with Adom News explained that, the suspect who is her Grandmother angrily dragged his hand into a fire as punishment for stealing.
“She put my hands in the fire and whipped me afterwards. I only took meat from the soup. My mother is in the village and my dad is at the hospital…” the boy cried.
Nonetheless, the disturbing act has currently left severe wounds on the right hand of the victim preventing him to go to school.
“I am in class one. We reopened today. But I couldn’t attend; the pain is too much…” he added.

Meanwhile, a resident of Assin-Omodurasi (name withheld) who spoke to Adom News said Madam Ama Adobea is addicted to abusing her grandson and children in the town and must be dealt with to serve as deterrent to others.
The suspect, Ama Adobea is currently in the grips of Assin Fosu Police but the District Police Commander is yet to comment on the matter.
