HOT AUDIO: Uproot Hajia Fati from your headquarters – Baako tells NPP

-

Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako Jnr says Hajia Fati should be sacked from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) headquarters following the assault on a journalist of Multimedia Group, Ohemaa Sakyiwaa at the party’s headquarters.

According to him, Hajia Fati’s conduct is unacceptable and does not speak well for a governing party.

“Hajia is a very good friend of mine because in our days of agitations on the streets some years ago she was there with us so I like her but I think her conduct is unacceptable”, Kwaku said.

“It’s not just one case, it’s becoming a pattern, she must be uprooted from the headquarters for starters, I’m sure she will be angry with me but of course assault is assault and so the law must prove that one too” he said on Accra-based Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana show, Thursday.

Sakyiwaa Ahwenepa was assaulted by Hajia Fati, a known operative of the NPP at the party’s headquarters in Accra after the journalist had gone there to cover an event.

Hajia Fati made a sudden detour on Wednesday, describing the attack as a mistake.

The NPP firebrand admitted slapping the newscaster, saying she took her for an onion seller.

“She was snapping [taking pictures of] me, I don’t know her, she didn’t approach me, she didn’t tell me anything. I only saw a flash on my face twice, the third time, I slapped her because I didn’t know who she was,” she said.

However, she changed her stance on Wednesday, 9 May 2018 when she joined scores of NPP supporters to accompany Sammi Awuku, a national organizer aspirant, to pick forms at the headquarters.

Hajia Fati used the opportunity to appeal to the media for her action which has since been condemned by the party.

But the veteran journalist, commenting on the matter, noted that the action of Hajia Fati is likely to cause some damage to the Akufo-Addo led government and the party as a whole.

He urged the party to immediately take a disciplinary action against her to serve as a deterrent to others who may be planning same.

“No one can underestimate that woman. Even on that fateful day, I saw her calls but I decided not to pick because she had gone too far with her actions.

“The party leadership must look at their constitution and must have some disciplinary action against such persons otherwise they will suffer the consequences”, he warned.
