-

Some irate students of Dr. Bemish Junior High School in Axim in the Nzema East of the Western region whose papers have been cancelled by WAEC have stormed their former school with eggs and invoked curses on teachers.

According to the BECE candidates, they believes their former teachers are the reason their results English language paper were cancelled.

“When we heard the results were in, I went to check and I realized English Language was not part so I attempted suicide but fortunately my uncle saw me and took it away from me. We want to go to school. It’s very depressing to see your mates going to school while you sit at home because someone has decided to withhold our results. We can’t even eat nor sleep…”one of the worried student lamented.

“If by the end of September I don’t see my English result, I will kill myself…” student threatened.

Meanwhile, Headmistress of the school, Madam Cecilia Nokoe blamed WAEC for the development.

She explained that, the students joined students from other schools in the area to write the English paper thus she suspects the malpractice might be coming from outside.

Madam Nokoe said she has not known peace since her former students together with their parents are ‘torturing’ her and some of the teachers in the municipality.

Madam Cecilia further revealed that, some parents have started withdrawing their wards from the school due to the matter at hand.

“They always come here too insult me. The teachers can’t even teach. I am very worried. They follow me everywhere I go. I have asked the parents to talk with their kids but it proved futile. The parents aren’t happy. They claim if the investigations will delay and eventually their kids won’t school…” she explained.

She is therefore appealing to WAEC and government to intervene since they did not cheat in the exams to enable her former students enjoy free SHS.
