Mr. Boateng Gyan’s comment follows claims by Jerry Rawlings that majority of their party leaders are without integrity.
Mr. Jerry John Rawlings has indicated that although there are men with integrity within the NDC, majority of the party’s leaders are without integrity.
The former leader who was addressing party supporters and cadres at the Arts Centre in Accra said some media propagandists sponsored by individuals within the [NDC] party deliberately twist the truth in what he says are attempts to court disaffection for him.
He said: “When people in NDC and NPP are equally angry about the appointment of Martin Amidu, what should it tell you? Martin should have been used by us (NDC) but no, we checked him in, when he is an embodiment of what we stand for.”

According to him, he had witnessed a lot of negative actions during the Kufuor, Mills and Mahama periods, noting that, if such negative actions against him come from the NPP he would not have been surprised but coming from his own people was difficult to take.
But Mr Boateng Gyan indicated that Mr Rawlings wields enormous influence in the party and in the country and also has enough experience to assist the party to win power, therefore, the party executives must listen to him.
“It’s important that we listen to Rawlings, he wields enough power and influence and has a lot of experience that we can benefit from. Yes, sometimes we disagree with him on some of his utterances”, he said.

“I expect him to sometimes address such issues privately but if he chooses to fight it in the media then it means he is really hurt about our defeat and that is why we need to listen to him anytime he advises us just so we capture power in 2020”, he said on Accra-based radio station, Neat FM monitored by Adomonline.com.
