Residents of Kwabenya are appealing to the Inspector General of Police and the Interior Minister to deploy security officers to avert activities of armed robbers in the area.
The residents are worried about their safety after a Police officer was shot and killed at the Kwabenya Police Station by unknown gunmen.
Residents fear an attack at a Police station gives the indication that the protection they are being given by the Police in the area is suspect.

The gunmen, numbering about six, shot and killed monitoring Inspector, Emmanuel Asilevi of Atomic Hills Police Station at about 1.30 am.
Inspector Ashilevi could not over power the gun men who eventually shot him and managed to free seven of the inmates.

A day after the incident, residents say they feel unsafe and are calling for adequate protection from the state.

But Station Commander, DSP Asiamah Yeboah, has assured residents of their utmost protection while they investigate the incident.
He told Adom News’ Kwame Kulenu that, the remaining inmates have been transferred from the cells including a murder suspect.

Interior Minister, Ambrose Derry and the Inspector General of Police, Asante Apeatu are expected at the Station later today.
