A 37-year-old driver, Richard Sarfo, has been jailed for allegedly stealing a hand bag which belongs to an 85-year-old woman, Yaa Antoa.
The Assin Fosu District Police commander, ASP Randolph Magnus Sam who disclosed this to Adom News said the victim was travelling from Assin Amoani to Akropong Odumasi for a funeral when the suspect snatched her bag containing GH₵ 350.00 Cedis.
The suspect was said to have dived into a nearby bush upon snatching the bag but luck eluded him when he was arrested at his hideout after a long search.

Sarfo who pleaded guilty to the charge of stealing when he was arraigned before court, has since been sentenced to an 18-months jail term.
The District Police commander, ASP Randolph Magnus Sam pleaded with Ghanaians to collaborate with the police to reduce crime across the country.
“People should refrain from doing bad because if you are caught and proper evidence is gathered you would be sentenced in accordance to your deed…” he urged.
