Heart of Lions’ head coach, Bashir Hayford, has expressed confidence in his team’s readiness for their upcoming match against Hearts of Oak in the 2024 Gbese Mantse Homowo Charity Peace Cup.
The highly anticipated match will take place at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, August 11, with kick-off set for 15:00 GMT.
During a press conference on Wednesday, Coach Hayford shared his thoughts on the upcoming encounter, emphasizing that his team is well-prepared for the challenge.
“We are facing Hearts of Oak for the Homowo Cup, and I am thrilled about it. Nana has been a good friend of mine for many years, though we haven’t met in a long time. I knew this match would give me the opportunity to reconnect with him” Hayford said.
He also highlighted his excitement about competing against Hearts of Oak once again, noting that the club holds a special place in his coaching career.
“Nana knows my history with Hearts of Oak, and I’m delighted to face them for such an important cup. We’ve prepared thoroughly for this match,” he added.
Coach Hayford also called on fans to come out in large numbers to support the teams.
“We want to see the stands filled with supporters. We promise an entertaining game that will thrill the fans and make the occasion memorable,” he concluded.
