Highlife musicians are cursed – Dada KD

-

Contemporary highlife musician, Dada Kwakye Duah (Dada KD) has stated that highlife musicians are cursed.
According to the ‘Fatia Fata Nkrumah’ hitmaker, he believes a higher level of hatred exists among highlife musicians across the country.
Speaking in an interview with Nana Poku Ashis on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, he stressed that the lack of love for each other in the industry has halted progress in their careers.
“They have been cursed because we hate each other. That is why we are stuck in the middle.’ He maintained.
Dada KD added that although some crops of the highlife musicians collaborate to write and produce songs, it is hardly composed out of love.
“We do collaborate but it’s not out of love. If I want to collaborate with someone I infuse my talent to make it hit. But they feel like you have sang it better than them…,” he explained.
In spite of this, he urged the old highlife veterans to make it a point to collaborate with the current crop of highlife musicians who are blessed and well-endowed with the advanced technology utilized in making music.
Dada KD, who believes in hard work and perseverance, insisted such a move will put Ghana on the map with regards to the famous Ghanaian genre – Highlife.
“The moment the top highlife singers will collaborate with the young guys it will be resurrected. It cannot die. The young guys will capitalize and make money out of beefs. They don’t care who sang it best, they just want the hit…” he told Ashis.
