The Director of Diaspora Affairs at the Office of the President, Kofi Okyere-Darko, has urged Ghanaian media to dedicate at least 70 percent of their playlists to Ghanaian music throughout March.
Speaking at the launch of Heritage Month at Labadi Beach Hotel on Monday, March 3, 2025, Okyere-Darko emphasized that the period is an opportunity for Ghanaians to showcase their pride in local culture.
He encouraged the media to use this period to promote local content, stating that such efforts would help highlight Ghanaian music and contribute to the growth of the industry.
“For this month of March, please let us do Ghana music. I will entreat us to do at least 70 percent Ghanaian music,” he said.
Okyere-Darko added, “We have enough music in our collection to keep us going for the entire month.”
He further urged Ghanaians to use Heritage Month as a time for national reorientation, stressing, “We have a beautiful country to build together, let’s all build the country we want together.”
