Here’s how this guy lost weight without extreme dieting or gymming!

-

My turning point was when I realized my weight gain was coming in the way of my personal life.

I was scared of being obese. I couldn’t even concentrate on work or spend time with my family. Along with this, the typical mean comments from friend and family on my shape and body weight made me think that it was the right time to work on my transformation.

03/7What I like to eat to stay fit

My breakfast: I used to have a high-protein breakfast which was either 4 egg whites sauteed with butter or paneer.

My lunch: 100 grams of tawa chicken fry or salmon fish or assorted vegetables (broccoli, mushrooms, beans and carrots) steamed and sauteed.

My dinner: I kept dinners light, and usually had a big bowl of soup (vegetables, chicken, pumpkin etc. )

Pre-workout meal: A glass of warm water with lemon squeezed with salt.

Post-workout meal: My breakfast on most days.

I indulge in (What you eat on your cheat days): The good thing about the lockdown and COVID risk was that I restricted myself to homemade food. So, all the cheat meals I had were made at home. I like having meals like chicken biryani.

Low-calorie recipes I swear by: Lemon butter garlic salmon fry

04/7Workout and fitness secrets

My workout: I went brisk jogging for 40-45 minutes every single day, no days off.

Fitness secrets I unveiled: Understanding what’s on your plate before you start eating will make you eat mindfully. I have learnt and understood how to eat food in moderated quantities by calculating the intake, mainly based on the quantity.

05/7How do I stay motivated?

I always used to motivate myself by watching fitness videos and inspiring workout video online. I have also kept an old photo as my wallpaper and keep reminding myself that the target is not that hard to achieve if I keep doing what I do.

How do you ensure you don’t lose focus?

I kept monitoring my weight every now and then, precisely even after my meals to ensure that my weight is not crossing the limit which I have set for the day.

What’s the most difficult part of being overweight?

I think weight gain and obesity, more than the physical aspect makes you realize that you are not leading a healthy lifestyle when you compare yourself with others. Minor health complications kept popping now and then and it was an indication, all of it was related to my weight.

06/7What shape do you see yourself 10 years down the line?

I want to have flat abs and build my metabolism in the future years. A healthy diet, proper fitness regime is going to be key factors to consider before I make any change in my lifestyle.

What are the lifestyle changes you made? I started eating healthy, had fewer carbs, minimal rice intake, less screentime and most importantly, started taking care of my body by exercising and being physically active.

07/7Lessons learnt from weight loss

Even though I received a lot of harsh, comical comments over my appearance, thankfully, I was dedicated and nothing pulled me down during my weight loss journey.

Lessons learnt from weight loss:

One of the biggest lessons for me, personally is that regardless of your lifestyle, one should always treat food as a medicine, eat limited and healthy quantities rather than abuse it. Ultimately, things will fall into place with the course of time as you try to achieve your target.
