Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has conceded that his team was outclassed by a well-organized Nations FC side, despite a spirited performance.
In an outstanding Matchday 21 fixture played at the Tuba Astroturf on Thursday, the Phobians suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to the Abrankese-based club. Razak Simpson’s brilliant strike proved to be the difference, securing all three points for Nations FC.
Speaking in his post-match remarks, Ouattara acknowledged the strength of the opposition and admitted Hearts of Oak struggled with their finishing.
“We lost to one of the most organized teams. We did everything right, unfortunately, it’s the same problem we’ve had: the ability to score. We have a problem with that,” he said.
“We lost, and we accept it. We accept we lost the game because we didn’t do well,” Ouattara added.
The loss leaves Hearts of Oak sitting sixth on the Ghana Premier League table with 37 points. They will look to bounce back when they welcome Medeama SC to the Accra Sports Stadium this weekend.
