Public Relations Officer of Accra Hearts of oak, Kwame Opare Addo has revealed management of the club tried to retain all players whose contract expired this year.
He explained that, they called the players six months to the end of their contract about their intent but none of them showed up.
Opare Addo disclosed this in an interview on Asempa FM’s Ultimate sports show Friday.
“Management and Board members of Hearts of Oak did everything possible to renew the contracts of our players even before June this year but the players never showed up and kept keeping excuses,” he added.
The Hearts of Oak PRO maintained that, they cant be blamed if the players did not show interest in staying in the club.
“We have never sat undisturbed like it is been purported in the media only that our players have refused to show up and we cannot force them to do otherwise”.
Six players who were integral in the club’s campaign this season are said to be leaving the club with WAFU winning defender, Vincent Atinga Addae already handed his floating status from the Football Association and striker Kwame Kizito on the verge of joining Swedish side, BK Hacken.
