Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare has attributed the team’s hard-fought 1-0 win over Medeama SC to their fighting spirit and determination.
The Phobians snapped a four-game winless streak on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium, with a stunning long-range strike from Raphael Amponsah sealing the victory.
Asare, who registered his 13th clean sheet of the season, spoke about the team’s resolve following a recent dip in form.
“We had determination coming into this game after our defeat on Thursday,” he said. “We knew we had to grab all three points. We thank God for this victory, and also our fans and everyone who came to support us.”
Reflecting on the unpredictable nature of the game, he added, “Football is like that—you can lose or draw, anything can happen. But we always have the mindset of winning. The focus is always there.”
The victory lifts Hearts of Oak to 4th place on the Ghana Premier League table with 40 points after 25 matches. They will face Vision FC next on Matchday 27 at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex.
