Hard work, dedication, and prayers did the magic – Dome-Kwabenya MP-elect

-

The Member of Parliament-elect for Dome/Kwabenya, Faustina Elikplim Akurugu, has expressed her gratitude and determination following her victory in the parliamentary elections.

Speaking to journalists after the Electoral Commission (EC) officially affirmed her win at an emergency Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting on December 31, 2024, she attributed her success to perseverance, hard work, dedication, and faith.

Akurugu said the EC’s affirmation was simply a confirmation of her initial declaration as the winner on December 8, 2024.

“Today is not a new declaration, but an affirmation. I just want to thank God for how far He has brought us,” she said.

In her statement, she made an analogy to a large animal, referring to the NPP’s dominance in the constituency.

“We all know that the elephant is a big animal, and when you kill it, it takes time before it finally dies. So today, finally, the elephant is dead, and Dome/Kwabenya has come to stay,” she remarked, attributing her success to hard work, dedication, and prayer.

Madam Akurugu thanked her supporters and campaign team for their tireless efforts, acknowledging the difficulties during the election process.

“The process was not easy due to the ups and downs, but I want to thank everyone who supported us through the long hours. The voice of the people has finally spoken. To God be the glory, great things He has done, and greater things He will do,” she added.

Looking ahead, she assured her constituents that she was committed to delivering impactful work.

“Now, I’m the MP-elect. The next step is to start working. Dome/Kwabenya has always been for the NPP, and this is the first time the NDC has taken the seat,” she said.

She pledged to maintain the trust of her constituents through hard work and service.

“It’s hard work that will make the people maintain me for a long time, and that hard work starts today. I promise my constituents that we will make Dome/Kwabenya a place everyone will love to be,” she concluded.
