UN Secretary-General, António Guterres, has announced on Friday the appointment of Hanna Serwah Tetteh as Director-General of the United Nations Office at Nairobi, Kenya.
Madam Tetteh succeeds Ms. Sahle-Work Zewde who has been appointed as Special Representative to the African Union and Head of the United Nations Office to the African Union (UNOAU).

She recently served in the erstwhile John Mahama government as Foreign Affairs as well as Trade and Industry Minister.
She served as Minister for Trade and Industry from 2009 to 2013 under former President John Atta Mills and Minister for Foreign Affairs from 2013 to 2017 during President John Mahama’s tenure.
Madam Tetteh is a practising lawyer who holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Ghana.
She was also the Member of Parliament for the Awutu-Senya West constituency in the Central Region.
