Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan insists he is not close to retiring from football.
The 32-year-old is coming off an injury-stricken season in Turkey with Kayserispor.
Gyan’s form with the Black Stars has also dipped in recent times giving credence to calls for him to call it quits.
But the former Sunderland star says retirement is not on the cards due to his insatiable desire to keep on playing.
“Football is all about dedication and it is there,” he said on Cheers on GHOne TV.
“I will call it quits once I don’t have that feeling anymore.
“When I don’t train for some time I feel I am missing something so the desire is still there.”
Gyan will be hoping for an improved campaign next term for both club and country.
