A Sign Language lecturer at Koforidua Technical University (KTU), Mr. Keith Aboagye Ofosuhene, has embarked on an ambitious quest to set a new Guinness World Record for the longest sign language reading marathon by an individual.

The sign-a-thon record attempt is set to run continuously for 7 days, totaling 168 hours.

It began on September 16, 2024, at the Ceremonial Grounds of KTU and will conclude on September 22.

As of the third day of his marathon, Mr. Ofosuhene has already signed for nearly 70 hours.

The lecturer uses a projected monitor to read and sign the content while his team monitors.

The purpose of this record attempt is to raise public awareness and support for his initiative, “Operation Inclusiveness of Hearing Impaired (Deaf),” which emphasizes that sign language interpreters and individuals with disabilities are not defined by their limitations.

Additionally, Mr. Ofosuhene aims to promote Ghanaian Sign Language (GSL) through this extraordinary effort.
