Atinga Nsobila Joel has announced his intention to reattempt the Guinness World Record for the longest barbecue after his initial effort fell short.
Atinga’s khebab-a-thon event is scheduled for early next year, though the exact date is yet to be confirmed.
However, he subtly indicated that, he has already contacted Guinness World Records and received approval for the reattempt.
However, his announcement has sparked mixed reactions among Ghanaians.
While some have expressed support, others have criticized the move, calling him an opportunist and alleging he is motivated by the exposure and sponsorship rewards.
In response to the backlash, Atinga dismissed the accusations while asserting that his pursuit of the record is not for selfish gains.
He noted that if his intentions were self-serving, he would have used funds from his previous attempt to acquire properties.
Atinga appealed to Ghanaians to stop the criticism and rally behind his efforts to bring the title to Ghana.
