Ghanaians in various parts of the country are experiencing intermittent power outages due to a challenge at the Ghana National Gas Limited (GNGC) Gas Processing Plant in Atuabo.
According to a joint statement from the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) and the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), the disruption in gas supply for power generation has impacted the country’s electricity grid.
As a result, some areas are facing periodic interruptions in electricity supply.
The utility companies have apologized for the inconvenience and assured the public that engineers from GNGC are working around the clock to address the issue and restore full gas supply.
GRIDCo and ECG also indicated that they are closely monitoring the situation and expect power supply to stabilize once the challenges at the Atuabo plant are resolved.
