The Ghana Photojournalists Network (GPNeT) is set to celebrate World Photography Day on August 19, 2024, with students from Tema Technical Institute (TTI).
The event, themed “An Entire Day-Mentoring Young Photographers,” aims to provide aspiring photographers with insights into the field of photojournalism.
The celebration will include presentations from GPNeT President, David Andoh, on “Photojournalism and its Impact on Society,” and GPNeT Executive Member, Dan Nii Doudu Amo, on “Ethics and the Safety of Photojournalists.”
Participants will also have the opportunity to explore various sites in Tema to practice their photography skills and engage with stakeholders.
This initiative reflects GPNeT’s commitment to mentoring young talents and giving back to society, with many of its members being alumni of TTI.
World Photography Day honours the contributions of French artist Louis Daguerre, and GPNeT has marked the occasion in previous years with activities such as tree planting and photo exhibitions.
