Western Regional Football Association Chairman, Kojo Yankah has disclosed that the 2016/17 season will not kick start on December 18 as proposed by the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
The Football Association is yet to decide the case between Dreams FC and Tema Youth on December 12 when the Football Association assembles for its annual congress.
Many have raised concerns over the date proposed by the Football Association due to the protest filed by the various clubs but Mr. Yankah believes the league will not start on the date proposed by the football governing body.
“I have to say that the league will not kick off on the date proposed by the Ghana Football Association.
“FIFA has to send us a link that we have to use for the registration of the players and the teams but as we speak we have not received the link from FIFA.
“We had a meeting and it was disclosed to us that we should have received the link on November 14. With the way things are moving I don’t think the league will start on the date proposed by the Football Association,” He added.
