Legon Cities FC skipper, Jeffrey Degorl, says he and his teammates will do everything to secure all three points against Accra Great Olympics.
The Royals have been poor since the start of the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League (GPL). After nine matches played, Cities are occupying the 15th position with 10 points.
They will host the two-time Ghana Premier League champions at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday.
According to skipper Degorl, he is saddened anytime he looks at the league table given the low standing of his side but he and his teammates would give their all to propel the club up the table.
“When I look at the table, I feel sad and I am not happy about it. We would give our all to ensure that we win Friday’s game,” he stressed.
However, head coach of the side, Goran Barjaktarević dismissed reports that he is under pressure to perform.
“Olympics is one of the three most popular clubs in Ghana, so we are expecting a very open game in this City derby… Like a 50-50 game,” coach Kuch said at a press briefing on Wednesday in Accra.
He insists he is still building his team despite the poor run.
“The job I am doing now was to be done three months ago,” said Kuch who was appointed coach in December 2019.
“I have to work on my team, not offence or defence. In Europe, we have a saying that a good attack wins you one match but a good defence wins you championships,” he said.
