The Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA) has accused the Ghana Ports and Habours Authority (GPHA) of betraying their trust.
The group say an agreement reached with the GPHA to prevent Meridian Port Services (MPS) Limited from charging new fees has been breached.
It has emerged that the GPHA has agreed for 11 percent tariff increment for cargo handling at the Terminal Three of the Tema Port.
Chairman of the Greater Accra chapter of GUTA, David Amoateng, on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show Friday, called for a total overhaul of the Management of GPHA.
He per the conduct of the GPHA, it was obvious they are working against the Akufo-Addo administration which is doing everything possible to support importers and exporters.
“I want the President to sack all the leaders at GPHA because they are working against his interest. They have stabbed us in the back,” he fumed.

Mr Amoateng said his outfit was embittered because the expected increment which is scheduled to take effect next month, will increase the cost of shipping.
MPS, the GUTA Greater Accra Chairman said, is able to do this because they have been granted permission by GPHA which stands to benefit.
The GUTA Chairman said they had resolved to move to neighbouring ports should the exercise continue.
