A communication team member of the National Democratic Congress is of the view that the Akufo-Addo-led government’s fight against corruption is not impressive.
According to Anim Piesie, President Nana Akufo-Addo has demonstrated little commitment in fighting the canker.
“One of the promises President Akufo-Addo gave was that he was going to protect the public purse, yet his office has been ranked 6th most corrupt in the recent afrobarometer report,” he lamented.

Speaking on Adom TV’s Badwam show, Mr Piesie claimed the government from the inception demonstrated little faith in the fight against corruption.
“The beginning of the Akufo-Addo led government clearly depicted we couldn’t win the fight right from his large sized family and friends appointments,” he said.
He challenged the President to begin prosecuting government officials found culpable to serve as deterrence to others.

“This government has been accused of openly defending appointees who have been accused of wrongdoings but naming and shaming would have led to a drop in the fight against corruption,” he opined.
